Attorney: Please introduce yourself to the court.
Bailey: My name is Bailey Cross, I am 46 years old and I live in
Harrison, OK. (page 32 lines 1-2)

Attorney: What do you do for a living?
Bailey: I am a architect and the owner of Dust Bowl Designs. (page 32 line 2)

Attorney: Do you recognize anyone in this courtroom?
Bailey: Yes, Paula Thrombold.

Attorney: How do you know Paula?
Bailey: We both went to the Millhouse Institute. (page 32 line 7)

Attorney: Why did you open up a business with Paula?
Bailey: I liked Paula, and I was eager to get out of New York. (page
32 lines 14-16)

Attorney: How would you describe Paula?
Bailey: Dedicated, hardworking, and loving.

Attorney: Did Paula have a relationship with anyone that you know of?
Bailey: Yes, Gavin Wright. (page 32)

Attorney: How would you describe Gavin?
Bailey: There was something I didn't like about him, he also seemed
controlling. (page 32 lines 23-35)

Attorney: Why would you say Gavin was controlling?
Bailey: I occasionally went out with Paula and Gavin, and he picked
her entire meals. (page 32 lines 29-35)

Attorney: Was there anything positive about Gavin?
Bailey: Yes, he showered Paula with gifts. (page 32 lines 28-29)

Attorney: Could you please explain what happened on the night of the
Mercer account meeting?
Bailey: Paula and I had the opportunity to bid on the mercer account
and we had a dinner meeting.
During the meeting Paula seemed distracted. She lost track of the
conversation and she was kept looking at her watch.
I was concerned about her behavior, but the meeting went well. I asked
her to stay after the meeting. However, she said she had to get home
and that we would talk later. After a few days later that Paula and I
learned that the Mercer people were going to sign with us, Gavin threw
us a big party at the Cowboy Grill. I suspected Gavin may have hit
Paula because she was wearing heavy makeup, which she never did.
Her right cheek seemed a little swollen too, I was too embrassed to
ask her about it. (page 33 lines 52-60)

Attorney: Did you ever ask Paula about her relationship with Gavin
after that incident?
Bailey: Yes, she seemed unhappy. I asked her about it, and she would
say she and Gavin were having "some problems". (page 33 lines 72-74)

Attorney: Did Paula ever say why Gavin and her were having problems?
Bailey: She said it was mostly because he was trying to get her to
sell her interest in Dust Bowl Designs. (page 33 lines 74-76)

Attorney: Did you ever hear Gavin asking Paula to work with him?
Bailey: Yes on several occasions, saying they could be "together all
the time". (page 33 lines 46-47)

Attorney: Did Paula accept Gavin's Invitation to sell her interest in
Dust Bowl Designs?
Bailey: Yes, in September of 2002. (page 33 lines 75-76)

Attorney: Did you notice any signs of Paula having regret in selling
her interest in Dust Bowl Designs?
Bailey: Yes she always seemed tired and kind of down, she even said
she regretted having sold her interest in Dust Bowl Designs and that
she wished she had cash to buy back in start over. (page 34 101-111)

Attorney: Did you still keep close contact with Paula after the
selling of the interest in Dust Bowl Designs?
Bailey: Yes, for the first few months after she sold. Then I saw her
less and less. We quit doing things on the weekends.
Instead, she was only available to have lunch during the week. I
thought that was weird since she didn't work nights or weekends. Then
it got even worse. She would cancel lunch plans, saying she had too
much work to do. But I know one time I called and her receptionist
said she hadn't been in all day, I suspected Gavin and something to do
with it. (page 34 lines 90-100)

Attorney: What happened with you and Paula on the night Paula was arrested?
Bailey: She called me from jail, when I went down to see her, she was
upset and that Gavin had been beating her for years.
Everything started falling into place in my mind, I felt so guilty
that I hadn't put it all together. (page 34 lines 114-118)

Attorney: No further questions.
